judo

Judo martial art is from Japan and is created in the 1880s by a Japanese professor Jigorō Kanō, who was a son of samurai family. The name, Judo, means a soft or flexible way, the skill of giving in. The techniques used in Judo include chokes, locks and throws.

Judo's principles are the principle of maximum power, the principle of flexibility and the principle of the common good. The principle of maximum power is to be able to use the amount of force required for the situation, which must be used to its maximum advantage.

The principle of the common good is to protect enthusiasts from hurting others. The purpose is not to harm others, and we try to avoid any harm.

Belt values apply to Judo. They reflect the skill level of the wearer:

  • Black (highest)
  • Brown
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • White (lowest)
